Science conclusively shows deteriorating water quality in Long Island’s groundwater, which provides the only source of drinking water for Long Island’s 2.8 million Nassau and Suffolk residents. Our groundwater also provides the majority of fresh water entering our bays, harbors, and estuaries...

how do you network

How do YOU network?

We ALL network.  We all NEED to network.  Everyone networks differently.  Some of us network with a select few people in our everyday lives.  Some of us network with anyone and everyone we come into contact with.  We network for our families, we network for our careers, we network for ourselves.  The way we networked ten years ago is likely very different from the way we network today.  The way we network tomorrow may be totally different than the way we network at this moment.  There is no right way or wrong way to network.  You may find that at different times of your life, your style of networking may evolve, and it will continue to evolve.  How do YOU network?

What our readers have to say… The Government Shutdown

Earlier this week we asked our fans on the Nassau Networking Moms Facebook page if they (the moms), their spouses or others close to them were on furlough or working with no pay? Unfortunately, many of our local families are already being effected in the immediate present by the government shutdown.

Here were some of the responses we got.

Angela says

Yes, and working at a job where they are putting their life on the line without pay, adding emotional turmoil to the strain it’ll put on taking care of household expenses! This government has gone down the toilet playing it’s stupid games! and it’s always the hardworking middle class who takes it where the sun don’t shine!

Sari says

Who Am I?

I’m His Wife, Their Mother, Why Can’t I Just Be “ME”?

Many moms often feel that with the joys of motherhood comes a feeling of loss of self.  You are now known as “Mrs. Smith” instead of Jessica.  Your life revolves around your baby’s feeding and napping schedule.  You have lost that pre-pregnancy figure and getting it back seems to take so much more work than it used to.  If you have become a stay-at-home-mom, you no longer have the camaraderie of co-workers and the responsibilities that you held for so long and with the respect of your supervisors and business contacts (although you have so many NEW responsibilities!)...
